How To Break Out of Your Comfort Zone đź’Ş
Hi friend,
This week I’m writing to you, sat in a super old mountain lodge, surrounded by snow covered mountain tops and frozen lakes. We drove roughly 10 hours north from our cabin, Christine and I, to go on this big adventure. We’re spending 4 DAYS up here – dog sledding in the mountains!
This is something that Christine has never ever tried before. And while talking in the car about this amazing adventure that we’re about to head out on together, I realized something:
There are sooo many things about this dog sledding adventure that are completely new to her, still. Things that lies FAR beyond her actual comfort zone.
It made me think of how often we actually choose comfort and convenience over happiness. We stay at the workplace we have, despite feeling unhappy, because it’s safe knowing how big our paychecks will be and which hours we’ll work. We stick around in bad relationships, because “better the devil we know that the devil we don’t”. It feels safer than leaving, simply because leaving means having to step out into the unknown.
But do we really have to live like this? Does it really make us happy?
Christine is a perfect example, if you ask me, of what can actually happen if you dare to step out into the unknown. If you dare to JUMP. If it hadn’t been for her reaching out to me, we would probably never have met. If she’d never left her clinic and safe workplace in Copenhagen, she wouldn’t have found this life she now has in Sweden. And she probably wouldn’t have started her own remote business, working as a hormone therapist online, running her women circle and sharing her unique voice through YouTube.
Has it been scary for her to take the leap and try all these new things in life? YES. Has she grown immensely? NO DOUBTS.
It IS scary to try new things. To take risks and leave your zone of comfort. But when was the last time you actually regretted a decision like that? The thing is, you don’t even have to LIKE the new direction you’ve chosen. You can always change your mind. But the whole point of leaving your comfort zone every once in a while, is to prove to yourself that you CAN change. Even the oldest of habits.
Do you honestly think it’s easy for me to take a bath in a frozen lake in -25 Celsius? My whole body is screaming “NO KALLE! This is such a bad idea!”. But then I let the ice cold water penetrate my skin. And I sit in the discomfort of it. Thinking that IF I can do THIS, then there’s nothing I can’t handle.
So today I’d like to challenge you to try something new. To take a step out of your comfort zone and explore something unknown.
Perhaps that one thing you’ve been curious about? It doesn’t have to be a huge thing, just a step in a new direction.
Who knows. Maybe you’ll discover a new path, that turns into the road to your future self? Maybe something amazing will happen? So embrace the unknown! Because you never know what the universe has waiting for you, just around the next corner.
And on the topic of discomfort…
Have you seen my latest YouTube video? If not, then head on over to YouTube and take a look at the discomfort we meet in our daily lives, living like we do. One thing is for sure; living a simple life is ALL about not letting the discomfort scare you.

My Top Three
đź’ˇInterior design: My A-frame lamp
One of my favourite things in our cabin is this A-frame lamp, designed and built by my friend Frida. It’s made out of recycled materials and I just love the cosy feel of it! She’s actually started to sell these lamps, so check them out 🙂
📽️ Documentary: The Rescue
This is such a good documentary! Actually one of the bests I’ve seen this year. It’s real, well-made and incredibly moving. A must-watch, for sure!
đź’Ľ Business: Vaja
These girls have made something amazing; they’ve started their own business selling beautiful interior products made out of reindeer antlers. Things such as candlesticks, coat racks and other beautiful designs. And I actually had the honor of meeting these to young girls, when they were awarded with the prize of “Young Enterprise of the Year”.
Until next time,
Hugs Kalle
