Before It Is Too Late
Hey there,
Lately, I've struggled to find the words to talk to you. To tell you about what's been going on in our lives, here in the north. Life has been a real rollercoaster over the past few weeks. At one moment, I've found myself in the middle of an unbelievably painful funeral, burying a friend who left us way too soon. In the next, at a vibrant birthday party celebrating my 90 year old grandmother.
It's tough sometimes, to keep up with the changes and curve balls that life serves you.
I found myself needing a break from YouTube. From all of the responsibilities – because, frankly, I was struggling. And I really needed time being around my family and friends. Being at my friend's funeral really got me thinking about how fragile life actually is. How you can be on top of the world one day, to then suddenly loose your footing and hit the ground. And it got me thinking how often we actually forget to appreciate what we have in life. Who we have in our lives.
I've really had a hard time battling my own feelings of guilt. Asking myself, why I didn't call my friend more often. Just to check in on him or let him know I was right there, if he needed me. It's a hard thing to come to terms with, now knowing it is too late...
And from that emotion, to driving 6 hours to surprise my grandmother at her 90th birthday party... At the party I kept looking over at grandma thinking what a total iron lady she is. The strongest, toughest and most stubborn woman I know of. Ninety years old and always with a smile resting on her lips. But, I know she won't be with us forever. And I know that the time I spend with her is absolutely precious.
What I really want to say is this:
Take a minute to check in on your friend or family member. You know, the one you've been thinking of lately but – for whatever reason – haven't talked to in a while. Ask them how they are. Tell them how you are. And that you love them. Because, truth be told, we never really know how much time we have left with each other. We never really know when it will be too late.
Life can change forever, in just the blink of an eye. So do it now. Do it today. Because time, my friend, will always run out eventually.
Btw!

🎙️Podcast: Erika Thompson, the Bee Lady – by The Joe Rogan ExperienceI'm a big fan of Joe Rogan and his podcast. Which you might have guessed already ;) But there was something about the guest of this particular episode, that left me completely spellbound. All I could do was sit there, in silence, while listening. And let me tell you – I would never have thought that I could feel so fascinated by someone talking about bees. Yes, BEES! But her passion about these buzzing little creatures absolutely captivated me.
Until next time,
