Life at 35: Reflections & Milestones ✨

Hi friend,

A few days ago, I turned 35 years old. I celebrated this day by taking on the role as both the bestman and toastmaster at my best friend’s wedding ❤️

The day after felt like the calmness that comes after a huge thunderstorm. I got some much needed alone time and the space to actually reflect upon the fact that I had just hit the age of 35. And I couldn’t help but ask myself; have I really achieved everything I set out to achieve at this stage in my life?

Truth be told, this is something I often struggle with. You know, this feeling that I’m constantly a bit behind on life. I can’t quite put my finger on why or what it is that makes me feel this way, it’s just this gnawing kinda feeling that I can’t seem to get out of my system. Perhaps you know exactly what I’m talking about?

Anyhow. I sat down with my phone and decided to make a list. And I started listing all of the things that I’ve achieved during the past 5 years:

  • I have bought and moved into my dream cabin

  • I have found the love of my life (!)

  • I have started a business — and I’ve managed to make good money, doing what I love

  • I have two wonderful dogs to share this life with

  • I have built a sauna, an A-frame, and I’ve renovated our whole roof

  • I have written an eBook — which I’ve sold over 600 copies of

To be honest, I could make the list even longer. But I don’t want it to sound like I’m bragging, haha 😅 However, what I want to share with you is how making this list of mine made me think of a quote by Matthew Kelly, that I read in the book The Long View. It goes something like this:

“Most people overestimate what they can do in a day, and underestimate what they can do in a month. We overestimate what we can do in a year, and underestimate what we can accomplish in a decade."

So… Perhaps I’m not that behind on life, after all? Because hand on my heart — if I manage to achieve something similar to the things I listed, during the next 5 years, I’ll be more than happy! I mean, I already have a great life and everything I’ve ever dreamed of. The rest is just icing on the cake.

Have You Seen My Latest ASMR Video?

I’ve come to really, really appreciate ASMR videos. Not only as a viewer, but I also really enjoy making them — and by the looks of it, you guys really seem to think I should keep it up as well.

A few weeks back, when we were spending time in Denmark, I decided to take a relaxing day in the forest. I really needed to recharge, and hanging out in nature, just listening to the sounds and experiencing the wildlife, is one of my favorite ways of finding new energy.

This time I decided to bring my camera and make a video out of it all. So if you feel up to experiencing the amazing sounds and wildlife of Denmark with me, make a nice cup of tea and enjoy my new video. You’ll find it right here:

📕 Book: Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter, by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson

I bet you didn’t see this one coming, huh? 😉 I’m not exactly a big fan of 50 Cent’s music. However, this book and his views on how to hustle, are two things I can really relate to. I found it surprisingly inspiring. Perhaps you will too?

Rolf is one of my absolute favorites on Youtube! He has this unique way of working with his storytelling and film making, that I haven’t quite seen on Youtube before. And he has this very special way of making you feel specially invited into a whole new world. It’s kinda hard to put words on the experience and the presence he has. In other words — you gotta see it for yourself.

Until next time,

Hugs Kalle
