⭐ How to Overcome Self-Doubt
Hi friend,
I’m a perfectionist to my very core, which almost always leads me to second guess myself. However, after years of trial and error in life, I’ve found ways to manage my self-doubt. Today, I’d like to share these tools with you 😊
We recently finished renovating our kitchen, but we ran into a problem: the wrong sink was delivered. Which meant that I not only had to drive to pick up a new one, but also that the responsibility landed on me to install the sink since the carpenters that was there to help me couldn’t wait.
As they were leaving, they said: “You’ve got this, Kalle! 💪". I looked at them, smiled, and thought. "You have no idea how much I don't got this..."
So, the self-doubt began and I honestly procrastinated the sink projects for several days before I got around to even start. I sat down and thought: “Why does this scare me so much? I’ve done so many renovations before. Sure, I’ve never installed a sink, but this actually gives me anxiety.”
So I took a lesson from my own eBook and asked myself the question: What’s the worst that could happen if I fail? What if I’ve made the wrong measurement and I cut the countertop the wrong way?
I realized that what truly scared me was the irreversible nature of cutting the countertop. It felt so final, with no way out if I failed, which left me feeling trapped.
So the worst outcome I could picture myself was that I do screw up and I have to buy a new one. Sure, that would set me back about $500, but it’s not the end of the world.
Most challenges in life depend on how you approach them. You can see obstacles as barriers holding you back, or as springboards propelling you forward, using the "obstacle" to your advantage.
Often, when faced with such situations, I remind myself of Elyse Myers' wonderful quote:
“If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think there’s anything I couldn’t do, at least half decently. I was born with the ‘how hard could it be?’ gene, which is incredibly helpful and very delusional. It’s made me pretty lucky.”
It took me far more hours than I care to admit, but I’m honestly going to brag about this sink to every single guest we have in the future! Haha 😅

If you want to see the actual result, I’ve just uploaded a brand new behind the scenes video. It’s a 23 minute long video including:
Showing the entire kitchen project so far
Talking about our first time as a family
Sharing my honest thoughts and feelings about a sadness I’m struggling with at the moment
My Top Three
🎦 Series - Dark matter
Finally a series with a new perspective! These episode actually made me realize how much I should appreciate what I already have in life.
🎵 Show/Podcast - Soul Boom
I’ve recently started watching/listening to this really interesting podcast! It’s with Rainn Wilson, you know the guy that plays Dwight in The Office. They dig into the core of the human experience: creativity, spirituality and psychology.

Do you have a few seconds to spare?
In that case I would like to ask a little favor from you if you don’t mind. This newsletter is something I really enjoy writing, and they are of course always going to be completely free!
However, it actually costs me over $100 each month to send it out. That’s the fee for using this newsletter service. So if you wanna support my newsletter, to help me keep it going, I just wanna ask if you could help me by sharing it with your followers or friends, I would really appreciated that ❤
Until next time,
Hugs Kalle
