🙈 What we never showed you...

Hi friend,

We just released a brand new video on YouTube, and it’s the longest one we’ve ever made! It honestly took us three months to film and edit. But when you take on a project this massive, a lot of things don’t make the final cut… until now.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes stories we didn’t include in the video:

The fish
In the video, I show that I bought three goldfish for our pond. They were both pretty to look at and helpful for keeping algae down. But what I didn’t show is that within the first week… they were gone. Turns out, bright orange fish in a shallow pond are the perfect snack for birds of prey. 🤦‍♂️ Lesson learned. I’d still love to try again, but with a better plan. Or at least a plan 😅

Birthday cake
Christine surprised me with a VERY special birthday cake, shaped like the cabin, me, and Tuss! She gave it to me at breakfast, and I had a big slice then. But by dinner… it was all gone. I had eaten the entire thing in just a few hours. Did I feel sick? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes.

The co-sleeping bed
At the very end of the video, I mention that we’re starting to build a brand new co-sleeping bed. The only reason it’s not in this episode is… well, we had a bit of a “moment.” I had started carrying in the beds, excited to get going. But Christine noticed there was still a layer of dust from all the sanding and painting. She wanted to clean it up first. I insisted it was fine. Cue: argument 😅 I got grumpy and stopped the project entirely. And… it’s still not done. Of course, she was right, it really wasn’t clean. But I have zero patience for stuff like that. I just want to go go go.
